New Posts!

See the new posts that I added below.

26 Week Picture

Hello Everyone! As you are finding out I am not very good at keeping up with the Blog. We are doing well and I have been feeling well so far. Last week I drank the 'orange drink' for the glucose test. I find out the results this Thursday at my appointment. I will be posting shortly with an update from Thanksgiving and also from our trip to Alabama.

Thanksgiving 2008

Each Thanksgiving we are fortune that both my family and Adam's family get together to celebrate the holiday. This year we met up in College Station at Adam's parents house. My parents drove down from Keller and Adam's sister and brother in law came over with their children. Adam's grandmother was also there. We had a nice time!

After the meal was over we started planning our shopping trip for the next (early) morning. It has become a tradition.

Weekend in the South!

For Adam's 30th Birthday we wanted to do something fun and if you know him he is a HUGE college football fan. So, we decided to go to a college football game (not a Texas A&M game). He decided on the Auburn vs. Georgia game in Auburn, Alabama. We flew into Birmingham, Alabama and saw some of the sights and stayed in Birmingham Friday night. Then, we drove to Auburn, Alabama to watch the game and see the Auburn campus. Saturday night after the game we drove to Montgomery, Alabama. We woke up Sunday morning and saw some of the historical sights in the capital of Montgomery and then we drove to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to see the University of Alabama campus. To conclude our road trip we drove back to Birmingham to the airport. We had a really good time and Alabama is a beautiful state. We loved seeing fall foliage, you don't see that too often in Texas, especially in San Antonio.

Fabric for Maddie's Room

We have chosen the fabrics below for Maddie's room. My mom and I are going to make the bumper, dust ruffle and window valence. All of the pieces will be a combination of the fabrics below. The walls are going to be painted a green color, the green is not as minty looking as it is in the picture. It is more of a sage green. The furniture is on order and it is a dark brown espresso. I will post more pictures as we go, but the room will not be finished until February most likely.

We have a name!

We have decided on a name for our little girl. She is going to be

Madelyn Lily

and we will call her Maddie for short.

Here we are at 22 weeks, almost 23 weeks

Lately we have not been up to much, but we are staying busy. The last two weekends we were in College Station for the Aggie games. This picture is from the A&M vs. Colorado game, which we won. I have to admit that I did not attend the A&M vs OU game this past weekend. Our nephew took my place and went with his Uncle Adam. They are best buds!
I have been taking a digital photography class the past few weeks to pick up on some additional tips and tricks with my camera and with Photoshop. It has been really helpful and has gotten me back into taking pictures.
This Wednesday I have the monthly doctor's appointment, nothing too exciting. I don't have to drink the dreaded orange substance this time (that I know of). I think that will be something to look forward to next month!

Half Way there!!

Preggo Picture - 20 weeks
Wow! How time flies, March will be here before we know it. So far I have been feeling well and have not had any trouble (knock on wood). I hope this continues.
Last weekend we were in College Station to watch another (losing) Aggie Game. The Aggies held their own in the first half against Texas Tech, but the second half was not so good.
While we were in town we celebrated Adam's Big Birthday, his actual birthday is this Saturday. We will be driving to Austin Saturday to order the Baby Furniture, I am sure that is just what he wants to do for his Birthday. It was the only weekend we could fit it in and since it takes at least 12 weeks to get it we needed to get it ordered. We had some furniture picked out right here in San Antonio that we really liked, but the store went out of business all of the sudden. I am glad we had not already ordered it from there.
We are going on a weekend trip in a few weeks to celebrate his birthday, so I don't think he is too disappointed.

It's a......

We went to the doctor today and had the sonogram and met with the doctor. We are having a GIRL! She was moving around a lot during the sonogram and I didn't even drink any caffeine beforehand. She measured at 19 weeks and five days in all areas except her legs, which measured 20 weeks and 5 days. I guess she is tall (she didn't get it from me). The triple screen came back negative and all of the organs looked great! Praise God for our healthy little girl,
Now we get to decide on a name, colors for the room, etc. So much to do, but we will sure have fun!

Gig'em Aggies!

This past weekend we went to College Station for another Aggie game! This time we won! It was the first win at home so far this year. This could be a long season. We started Saturday with a tailgate before the game. Adam's dad's F-2 Corps buddies get together every year for a reunion. Then, we walked over to Kyle Field for the game. It was nice and cool outside of the stadium, but once we sat down in our seats the wind seemed to stop blowing and the sun was beating down. I had to hang out in the shade for a little while, my mom joined me! The game was fun as always, the fly by was Apache helicopters and then four Army men parachuted and landed on Kyle field in the exact same spot!

After the game we went over to Adam's sister's house to hang out with them and have some pizza. We always enjoy hanging out with our favorite nephew and nieces! Then, we headed over to Allison and Brad's house. Our friend's Kalli and Phillip were also there visiting. It is always fun to get to see everyone on game weekends!

Here We Are!

Hello Everyone! Here we are after much encouragement from our friends and family to start blogging! We are excited to announce that we are expecting our first child in March of 2009! I (Gretchen) will be posting pictures and updates in our life as they happen. We hope to find out if we are having a boy or a girl on October 15th!

Preggo Picture

I made several attempts to scan in the Sonogram picture, but was very unsuccessful. Sorry! Maybe in time I will get the hang of this. Here is a Preggo picture of me by request. This picture is me at 14 weeks.

Sully

Let me introduce you to our dog/first child Sully. He is a very loyal, loving, friendly and sometimes hyper black lab. He likes to hang out with me at home while I am working.
When he gets bored he likes to look out the window into the back yard to see if there are any squirrels that he can bark at.
He likes to go with us to College Station for the Aggie Football games, but he is always tired on the way home.
